Comments: This photo shows the old rhizome with the remnant of the blossom stalk attached and new rhizomes growing on top of it. Note the swollen roots. From Heronswood Nursery; seed collected autumn 2000 by Daniel J. Hinkley from moist meadows of Zhongdien Plateau. Collection DJHC 0328. This photo was originally uploaded as Iris collettii, but Carla Lankow has identified this plant as Iris barbatula; see SIGNA Bulletin Fall 2008 p. 4003. (D. Kramb, 15-JUN-12)
