Iris versicolor #25 of 45

Credits: Iris versicolor, photo by D. Kramb, June 2003. (D. Kramb, 07-MAY-04)

Comments: These are seed pods of 'Murrayana' whose flower is shown in the previous photo. The elongated seed pods lead me to suspect this may be a hybrid with a little bit of Iris virginica genes in it. (D. Kramb, 07-MAY-04)

Also. when sprouting the seed, the first leaf up is in a strong "C" shape as in Setosa. (M. Roberge, 24-NOV-06)
