Rigidella orthantha #3 of 3

Credits: Rigidella orthantha, photo by J. Ruffin, sent to me via e-mail requesting help for identification. (D. Kramb, 08-JAN-06)

Comments: I believe this to be Rigidella orthantha, though it is unwise to guess just from a photograph. Jane said this photo was taken in the hills of Oaxaca, Mexico in May 2004. She said they carpeted the ground under the trees with flowers varying from pure bright red to some with yellow spots. Note that the pleated foliage is similar to the previous images I uploaded. (D.
